Experience

I first began working formally with people and their emotional difficulties in Youthline in the 1970’s in Wellington. I trained at Sunnyside Hospital as a mental health nurse culminating in 2 years as Charge Nurse of ‘C’ ward in Princess Margaret Hospital. I was fortunate to be part of setting up and developing the Cognitive Behavioural Programme at Kia Marama, Dept of Corrections. It was while here that I did my clinical psychology training. On completing my Diploma of Clinical Psychology I worked for eight years at the CDHB Anxiety Disorders Unit before moving into private practice as a clinical psychologist. Paul predominantly works from a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy aspect


Interests

I am a member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists and conform to the Code of Ethics set out for clinical psychologists. I keep up to date with current practice and thinking, attend College educational seminars and I take part in regular supervision.
